Outta town

I realize this doesn't look like much, but it's all of the town through Hicky's Ridge, mostly built. I've got a fair amount of detailing to do to make it look like the town at the start of Dead Man's Run, but the hard part is finished. Now it's just going to be a few weeks of wrangling with terrain as i make my way down to the drive-in.

  1. Outstanding job on the track Dead Man's Loop. Seems to be very close to what I remember, but I do miss chasing the flag girl around the drive-in. I only got to play the beta version of MCO but all the tracks were superb. I hope You get to do some more. Racing in the concrete river basin was unique.

  2. Hey thanks! I almost got it down to the drive-in before taking another big long break. My many other distractions have made this take so long that rFactor 2 is finally out. Now i'm thinking i'll get the thing in 3DS Max and finish it off for the new game. I've got a lot of learning to do before that's possible, but i should be well on my way by the end of this year.

  4. I picked it back up awhile ago, got it into 3DS Max and then got it exporting to rFactor 2 successfully. Now that i know how to do all this, it immediately made me want to rebuild a bunch of stuff to make it look better. Now that i'm no longer tied to Bob's Track Builder and i can actually build my own models, it's made me want to rework everything.

I started by finishing off the main road and basic terrain for the whole track and then rebuilt all the sidewalks in the first town. I started into rebuilding the diner right at the start line and then got distracted by other fun stuff going on in life.

I'll probably do an update in awhile, but getting this sucker into rFactor 2 means a lot of reworking and it's going to be quite awhile; especially with real life getting in the way.
